About

Ebenhaézer Castle is the life long passion of Ronél Basson – a Rustenburg business woman who has excelled in the in the professional world where men has dominated through the ages.

On the threshold of the realisation of a childhood dream, Rustenburg (and South Africa) is set to take note of the ambition and perserverance of this renowned metalurgical laboratory chemist who has dedicated much of her life to the realisation of a dream!

During the past year or two, the rapid development of Ebenhaézer Castle on the R24 (Johannesburg Road) could not have gone unnoticed. Ebenhaézer Castle is a grandiose guest house with a theme born in the middle ages – in fact from the 1300s right through to the 1700s.

The name “Ebenhaézer was derived from the Holy Bible and pays tribute to a stone which Samuel used as a beacon between Mispa and Sen in remembrance of the historical battle of the Israelites  and the Philistines. The name can be translated as “The Lord has helped us thus far” (1 Sam 7:12).

Ultimately, Ebenhaézer Castle will boast no less than 10 enchanted luxury suites – each depicting its own historical period and sporting particular works of arts from the said era.

At completion, Ebenhaézer  will feature ten suites, a restaurant and ladies bar, lounge area, business lounge, conference centre with wireless connection and data points, an executive board room (cigar and cognac lounge), beauty clinic, indoor chapel, curio shop and much, much more. Ebenhaézer will also be a popular wedding venue – server couples have postponed their weddings until after the completion date after coming to terms with the “castle concept”.

The concept is daunting, extraordinary and to a large extent quite unlike anything one can imagine in the accommodation industry today. At its completion, no later than November 2008, there is little doubt that Ebenhaézer will be an incomparable tourism asset to Rustenburg and the North West Province.
